I'm still trying to gather information for this mother taking Paxil 10 mg./day
during pregnancy. She has been advised not to breastfeed by her psychiatrist
and a pediatric neurologist in town. Since she has been on the drug her entire
pregnancy, what about withdrawal in the baby? Is there anyone who can give her
any encouraging information at all? She is due to deliver within the next two
weeks. What about a combination of breast and formula feeding timed to avoid
peak levels in the milk? She is willing to try anything. Dr. Hale, any
thoughts on this? TIA
