Lesley, I guess I am puzzled why someone would think that using an expensive,
hard to find drug (which can cause a re-bound effect over-time which reduces
let-down) would be a better solution than coughing up the bucks for a better
pump, or learning how to effectively hand-express. The auto-cycling Medela
"Mini" can be used one-handed, and she can do preliminary nipple massage,
etc. to condition her reflex to release to it. This is a decent occasional
use pump, and gen runs under $80. any where you go. (No, I am not a Medela
employee, but I assert that part of our role is to be well-educated in
varieties of equipment, and to apply that expertise to advising on equip.
selection based on pump function and mother's situation.) Nothing is
probably going to work well for her at first because she has conditioned her
reflex to work with her current routine. It can be re-routed.
