Regarding the physiology text printed in 1990: check the date of the
specific
reference for that statement about colostral antibodies not crossing the
GI tract after 24hrs. of life.  I have often been surprised by the
ancient, out dated materials used in texts and journal articles.  It
always pays to critique everything you read and judge it againt current
