Hi, all!  A question was raised about interpretation of mammograms in
women currently lactating as well as those who previously breastfed.
Apparently, there was a woman who had breastfed unilaterally (I don't
know how long prior to the mammogram), who was found to have
calcifications on the breast she had nursed with and none on the
unsuckled breast.  Of course, calcifications are often benign, and this
is not a question about incidence of breast cancer, etc., as we have
covered that before.  The question is: does anyone know of typical
changes on mammograms which are more likely in breastfeeding mothers? If
anyone has any experience regarding interpretation of mammograms in
currently or previously lactating women, please share your expertise.
