Hi again

Here's a question for you to ponder--anybody have an educated guess on this one?

A mom who is tandem nursing her 2 month old and her 18 month old wants to know
if there is any problem with giving the 2 month old the live polio vaccine and
then nursing her 18 month old? Her midwife had told her that the live virus will
stay in the mucus membranes and so was concerned about what might happen if she
nursed the older child (who is current on his polio vaccinations) on the same
breast as the little one. She said she could keep one child to each breast for a
few days if that would help.

And along similar lines, her 18 month old is past due for an MMR (measles,
mumps, and rubella) shot. She didn't want to deal with that while she was
pregnant and so delayed it. Is there any problem with nursing the 2 month old
after the 18 month old on the same breast?

I hope I have managed to state this clearly. It is late and I REALLY need to be
asleep!!

Thanks in advance.
