Goat milk is also notoriously low in folate (although some brands do
fortify). In addition to being slighly higher in protein, it is very high in
chloride and potassium which makes the renal solute load so high which has
already been pointed out (49mosm/100kcal). Also, if an infant is allergic to
cow's milk protein the odds are that the protein from another species will
also be allergenic are high. We never recommend Goat milk although I know
middle eastern cultures do use it quite alot. Judy K. --what's the word
