AAP has new recommendations on fluoride. I believe it is in the March 1995
issue of Pediatrics. Now not recommended in the first six months of life.
From 6 months to 1 year 0.25mg is recommended if the water flouride level is
<0.6ppm (they decreased the level downward from previous recommendations of
0.7ppm). Otherwise, if level is greater than 0.6ppm no fluoride is
recommended. Hope I remembered that correctly! I understand the AAP Dental
group concurs with the new recommendations as well!
