Hi everyone! I was SOOOO happy (perverse human that I am) to hear
about how overwhelmed others of you are with the wonderful stuff
we are generating. My husband has taken to looking at me through
slitted eyes, convinced that I am headed for a nervous breakdown.
I can't wait until I finally get my own mailbox, which will cut
down on some of the running around I have to do presently, and
I greatly appreciated the tips from the computer mavens in our
midst on folder management and downloading.
Um, Roberta, Segev is my daughter's fiance, not my husband. Not
your fault! No apologies accepted! Segev gets really amused by
all the faux pas, so no sweat. Also, like you, I am an American
(Cincinnati, OH) who moved to another country a long time ago.
In 25 years here, I am ashamed to admit that I have never been
to the Baha'i Temple in Haifa. Next time you come here, let me
know and I will trek up to Haifa and let you show me around.
(Haifa is a beautiful city, as long as you don't have to
breathe.)
I'm so glad that I finally worked up the courage to ask about
pumping USA - and that the discussion evolved to bf
"paraphenalia". Like Roberta in Mexico, I often feel quite
ambivalent: On the one hand, an "LC-retard", but on the other,
unsure about the technolization (well, you know what I mean) and
medicalization of bfing, which I am dead set against. I was SOOO
glad to hear that you guys with the pump rentals try to talk
women out of them when it is inappropriate. I really didn't know
how to ask this, and I so admire you guys in "the West" (does
that make you cowboys - um - cowgirls?), that I didn't want to
say anything that could be in any way construed as critical, God
forbid. Kathleen A., thank you especially. You put it very well
(as usual). I for one find it very difficult to understand why
a woman would WANT to pump unless she HAD to. Just the time and
effort needed I would think overwhelming to a new mother. Does
anyone have an explanation for this phenomenon? Curious Judy
