Here's a little info. about one new member: My name is Anne Kdser and I
moved from San Jose,Ca to Germany 14 years ago. I studied Health Science at
SJSU, had my 2 sons and got going in BF counseling with an English speaking
group here. After leading a German BF group 5 years I studied for the IBCLC
exam with the first training program offered in Europe. Since then I have my
own practice, Milk & More, for about 1 year. It's a struggle to get going
for 2 main reasons. One, what's an LC? Two, the medical system here pays
(poorly) midwives to help with breastfeeding. People here pay their
insurance company for medical care and most never see how much med. care
costs. Most people are not ready to pay for quality BF care.---- Currently I
am organizing an art show to celebrate World BF Week. 65 artists are
participating! This means new art works with BF as theme have been created!
There has been a great lack of modern art with this theme. No OB-GYN or
pediatrician in our town has any picture of a BF woman. Even mother-child
dyad is lacking in the art work... An article I wrote about the use of the
pacifier during BF will be published by the German midwife journal...My
dentist wants to start nutrition counseling in his practice. During my first
visit to me he offered me the job and said i could do LC work and BF classes
there too. Let's see how that works.! ....I am also one of the 18 certified
teachers for the BFHI program here in Germany . We recently assessed a
hospital, making it the 3rd hospital in Germany to be certified. At least
the first 2 receive their plackets this month. Any hobbies besides BF?
Well, there's gardening, wishful reading, hiking in the Alps, and a little
biking in our beautiful area on the Lech River, an hour north of the Alps
(spectacular views some days!)- So, who's first coming to visit?

    Personal experience re: Early periods

My first child received his first carrots at 4 months because the dr.
said he was low iron. Altho Justin did not like eating anything but MM, day
and night, with long sucking, my period returned shortly after the first few
and only spoonfulls. I lealkd too at a year if I went to a concert. The 2nd
child kept his BF to 10 minutes a side every few hours and at night. This
time my periods returned at 8 months. Is there any reason or rhyme to
individual variations?
