My name is Kathy Braun. I am an RN and a "pea green" IBCLC. I will be
attending the ILCA conference and am really excited to meet all the people who I
have come to know since I have been "on line." I use this term loosely, as I am
still struggling
with all the particulars of the system. My husband is the computer buff in our
home, and when he's not home I feel somewhat lost. Toni Pestro, IBCLC, my
friend, colleague, and lactation mentor encouraged me to introduce myself to the
group. We work at a Level II, 1700 delivery/yr. hospital and are constantly
challenged with the in-house problems. We see patients on an out-patient basis,
yet few are willing to pay and so far insurance reimbursement is minimal. I'm
already learning a lot from the seasoned LCs that I encounter and am thrilled to
go to Scottsdale to rub elbows with the gurus in the field.
