Deena-my Neo and I had a discussion on this subject recently. SHE states that
a bulletin came out from the AAP Commitee on Infectious Disease that stated
that you had to wait 48 hours after birth  ( and the administration of HBIG
and Hepatitis B vaccine ) before you could breastfeed. Supposedly to let the
immune globulin "kick in". Do you know of this bulletin? I have not seen it,
and so far she has not produced it, tho I have asked (she is lovely, but
slow.....:) I would like to know before we stall out ANOTHER HBV+ mom for
this reason....
