Strange Conversations Dept.: My city has 3 local magazines which come out
at the end of the week, all of which report mostly on local doings in the
city and in the immediate region. I called all 3 papers and asked to
speak to the person in charge of the "health issues" column. The first
paper I called, I was put through to Ilana. I introduced myself, said I
was a lactation counsellor, and I wanted to tell her that the first week
of August was World Breastfeeding Week, and maybe the magazine was
interested in doing a column or page on bfing. She asked me if this was
only in our region. I repeated that it was *World* BF Week, and my
opinion that Beer Sheva - last I heard - was part of the world, and she
said that if it wasn't exclusive to our region, she wasn't interested in
writing about it........ Double sigh. Judy K. in Beer Sheva, Israel
(*told* you it was La-La Land here!)
