First Meeting of the Task Force on Research Specific to Pregnant Women and Lactating Women

The meeting will be held on August 21-22, 2017, at Building 31, C Wing, Conference Rm. 6, NIH Main Campus, 31 Center Drive, Bethesda, MD 20892. The meeting will be live-streamed and archived on the NIH Videocast site.

The Task Force on Research Specific to Pregnant Women and Lactating Women (PRGLAC) was established by the 21st Century Cures Act to advise the Secretary of Health and Human Services on gaps in knowledge and research on safe and effective therapies for pregnant women and lactating women.

PRGLAC will review current research on pregnancy and lactation, identify ethical issues surrounding the inclusion of pregnant women and nursing mothers in clinical research, and chronicle the federal activities that focus on therapies for pregnant women and nursing mothers. The effort will include a focus on specific drugs, formulations, and other pharmacological factors that may affect health outcomes for pregnant women and nursing mothers and their children. To learn more about PRGLAC, visit https://www.nichd.nih.gov/about/advisory/PRGLAC/Pages/index.aspx.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Speakers will cover the state of the research on pregnancy and lactation, including studies on safe and effective therapies and opportunities for coordination and collaboration among federal agencies and nonfederal organizations.

Visit https://palladianpartners.cvent.com/TaskForceMeeting for agenda and other details and to register. Online registration will close Monday, August 14.
