We are looking at programs (on line or in person) that will make the biggest impact on our staff for improving our breastfeeding rates. Does anyone have suggestions? Our biggest educational need is with the pediatricians, nurse practitioners and neonatologists. However, most of them are not employed by the hospital and we cannot mandate a class for them.

Mary,
you may start with the Milk Mob project (www.themilkmob.org) that
attacks that particular problem getting into the doctors offices
literally through the back door - educating not doctors (who
unfortunately too often lack both time and desire to learn breastfeeding
skils), but theirlicensed (RNs) as well as non-licensed staff (MA's and
so on).
Hanging a carrot of improving patient satisfaction with the paid for
training may lure physician ofices into this training... Hopefully... At
least that is what I am trying to do despite of all the resistance (grrr)
