Check out "Making More Milk" by Diana West. Excellent reference on herbs etc.

Subject: herbal lactation support

I am a new IBCLC at a smaller hospital.I had heard recently 2 items that I could not find evidence based research on.Do herbs like Fenugreek, Blessed Thistle and Goats Rue possibly cause hypertension...like in a mom with hypertension?Should they avoid these?Second, Has Dr hale recently stated Fenugreek has same effectiveness as a placebo and is that with or without Blessed thistle or other herbs?Any suggestions for newer IBCLC to keep up with the changes, I do read this column and will do GOLD WEBINAR this year.Thank you for any help.
