Health Canada recommends babies not be swaddled because if they get stuck somewhere they do not have their hands to push themselves away.  Can't remember the last time I swaddled a baby to go to sleep.  I only suggest swaddling, to calm, if out of control, but we teach parents not to put to bed that way.
