Dear Sonya,
Here is the video of Dr. Kotlow for after care of frenectomy which shows you a simple way to prevent reattachment of Frenulum. When I spoke to Dr. Kotlow he mentioned infant's body repair cells rejuvenate so fast that if stretching exercises aren't done, the reattachment can begin to happen within 24 hours. He also added the recommended number for these exercises is at least a few times (3 to 4 times) in a day for 10 to 14 days post procedure.

The physician who did the frenectomy for my clients would deny need of any exercises despite my efforts to educate the mothers. However, I began exchanging mails with this physician on the procedure and other resources from Dr. Kotlow recommendation and articles from his website. This eventually helped since we noticed reattachment for few babies especially with posterior tongue tie. Interestingly the physician has never acknowledged or responded to any of my educative mails but the learnings is clearly apparent. :)
I hope that helps.

Subject: post frenotomy exercises and care
Hello,
Are there certain exercises that are helpful to do after a frenotomy, and
where could I find information on that? Someone suggested that there was a
video on Dr. Kotlow's site, but I wasn't able to find anything. Also, how
would you go about recommending that someone have information on that, if
the physicians aren't recommending it themselves?
Thanks,
Sonya Shaver, BS, CHES, IBCLC
