While there may be many advantages to clipping, it is important for the Mom to be aware that this may not be an instant or even complete solution to her nipple pain. I'd hate for her to become discouraged after the procedure if she does not have the results she expected. She and baby may need to learn more effective latching techniques. There could also be other issues contributing to the pain unrelated to the labial tie. Is it possible for her to get some face-to-face help?
