If the CDC and OSHA say that milk in the workplace can be stored in a regular refrigerator with lunches, and the Assoc. for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology says that breast milk is a body fluid, this might pose a conflict for an infection control specialist.
If there are references for the capacity of a newborn stomach, when we compare them with a pediatric textbook statement that a newborn needs a certain number of calories per kilogram of wieght, there may be a conflict for a pediatrician when ordering feeding quantities for a newborn who has a medical need.
How do we get these inconsistancies straightened out to prevent conflict between HCPs from differing specialties?
Judy
