I am glad NCC decided to institute an emeritus status, which for NCC certified nurses is not based either on age or length of certification. But I still have to pay to renew it every 3 years, and I can't use it in an employment situation.

However, it makes me feel good to be able to exhibit something 'official' to show a significant amount of past experience/expertise in MCH that may add some depth to what I might write in that field or a related field (i.e. lactation). plus it's one of the few letters I have or ever expect to have now at age 80 to put after my name;-)

But please, let's not go there in IBCLC-dom at least till we get the current controversy better solved;-)

(who has never gotten very high grades on the past 3 IBLCE exams taken in 25 years, and hoping to do better in 2016 if I'm still around and able and can meet future qualification requirements, but "fiddling with finding all my proof of CERPs" yet for 2011:-)
