for the eczema baby, raw organic shea butter is excellent for healing
and nourishing the skin and not just coating and sealing it like
(petroleum-based products do). raw, organic cocoa butter is also
fabulous. i used to actually slather my son in shea butter, wrap his
wrists and ankles in saran wrap and then put snug footed pajamas on
him and put long, snug socks over his hands for overnight. it helped
clear it up enormously, until i discovered the foods he was actually
reacting to and eliminating those completely cleared up the horrible
eczema.
i also can't state strongly enough that most people do not know the
full extent of all the terms for dairy (or gluten, or corn, or soy).
"non-dairy" products almost never are. non dairy creamer for example,
is dairy based. simply reading the label is not enough, moms must
learn to read every ingredient and to know that terms like "natural
flavors" is a term to couch hidden dairy and corn - so those products
must also be eliminated. email me at [log in to unmask] for some
good online links listing all the terms for dairy as well as a great
online support group for food allergy eliminations.
finally, i'd like to add that in cases where there appear to be
multiple food allergies and eliminating several or many of them
doesn't yield much improvement, GMO's have got to be considered. these
are a foreign and completely new food product that humans have never
encountered before. no tests have ever been done to see if they are
allergens or increase the allergen potential of existing foods. it is
a current theory and my personal belief that adding these into almost
all of our foods today is what is causing so many new multiple food
diagnoses in our most vulnerable population. i advise any mother
experiencing multiple food allergen symptoms in her child to put both
herself and her breastfed baby on a non-GMO, allergen friendly diet -
which means organic. i've seen time and time again that simply cutting
out the most likely of the top 8 allergens wasn't enough to help these
babies regain health - in addition to actively healing the mother and
baby's gut, GMO's had to be avoided completely.

it was 'only' breastfeeding issues i dealt with & i didn't have to
have an education equivalent to a specialty in food production,
nutrition & allergy symptoms!)
