In  my personal experience, the decline in milk supply is not due to 
less frequent breastfeeding during illness. I have seen it happen twice 
in a mother with stomach flew (fever and dehydration) and during 
mastitis with high fever.  But this still doesn't tell us if it is the 
fever or the dehydration causing the drop in milk supply.
