In developing countries, most women who breastfeed also use formula. Those
most aware of the risks associated with formula feeding are those who are
most aware of the importance of breastfeeding. IMO we need more "infant
feeding specialists." I'd much rather an IBCLC or a breastfeeding counsellor
be providing information and education on formula feeding than anyone else!

I have no clue how to talk to a mother about making and feeding bottles,
other than giving the baby control of the feed using a paced technique.

Maybe hospital LCs want to be careful that we aren't snared into teaching
about formula??
