I have been to Haiti 13 times on medical missions.

In fact, I was supposed to be there this week but had to cancel the trip several weeks ago because we could not work out all the logistics.

We encourage total breastfeeding as do the Haitian government and healthcare practitioners in Haiti. It is the only way children have a chance to survive postpartum.

We have a nonprofit organization, Health and Education for Haiti, Inc. We cannot provide immediate care for Haiti (and there are probably enough NGOs doing so right now), but we will be there for the future and the long run to help.

I have been to all the places you will see in the news.

If you went to Port-Au-Prince before the earthquake, you would have thought it already was hit by an earthquake.

It was devastated before; now it is totally devastated.

There is no infrastructure in Haiti at all.

My heart is torn by all this.

I will persevere and will be back and continue to go back until the day I die.

Thank you are doing and will do for the poorest of the poor.
