This was a blast from the past!


These were in use in the UK about 40 years ago (before even my time). 
I have never seen anyone use one in the past 30 years.

I hae no idea if there is any research on their use or effectiveness 
(I doubt that there is) and I would suspect that whatever their use 
and whatever mothers feel about using a shield like this, it would 
not aid effective positioning and attachment in any way at 
all....applying what we know about how babies actually remove milk 
physiologically. Seems to me pretty clear this shield would be 
anti-physiological.
