"expect" to sit with the same people they work with and sit at the same
table every day? One recommendation I give to coordinators of programs (but
only one has taken me up so far) is STRONGLY ENCOURAGING that people who
attend conferences sit with a specialty other than their own - it's amazing
what you can learn at lunchtime or in breaks! <

Another good way to meet and exchange ideas with people from other
specialties is to join (or form) a local Breastfeeding Network. Ideas for
promoting breastfeeding in your own community grow more quickly when
everyone works together - LLL Leaders, hospital and private practice IBCLCs,
midwives, WIC staff, peers counselors and nursing mothers. You may ven be
able to persuade an OB/GYN or pediatrician to join!
