I am looking for input on a policy for adoptive mothers to bring in
breastmilk for the baby while in the hospital. We get permission from
the birth mom and ask for HIV testing on adoptive mother, ( which is
obtained on all mothers in this hospital). We need to make a policy to
cover both mothers especially if the birth mom changes her mind about
the adoption and the infant would later turn HIV positive. Both the
mothers and the hospital need to be protected. I would appreciate any
information about what you do or if you have a policy you are willing to
share. Thanks in advance.
