Gwen, if this response (your subject line said "no subject") to Dana's
question which was:

<<There is some documentation from Hale about halting breastfeeding for
> 2 days and others say mom can have no contact after exposure to 99mTc
> MAA. What do you recommend? Does mom have to pump and dump? Does she
> have to avoid contact with the baby?>>

then I think it is important to reread Hale's book on this again. On page
906 (2008) he states that Technetium (Tc-99m) is present in the milk for at
least 15 hours to 3 days, and significant quantities have been reported in the
thyroid and gastric mucosa of infants ingesting milk from treated mothers.
It has a radioactive half-life of 6.02 hours. Lactation risk category is L4,
and he suggests pumping for at least 48 hours.

Now....if you look at the charts on pages 1048 & 1049, there are a variety
of lengths of time for pumping depending on the type of Tc-99m that is used.
For example, Tc-99m MAA, 12.6 hours for 150 Mbq is recommended which
corresponds with what Veronica said.

However, in other places, Tom has recommended pumping for 4-5 half lives to
have 94-97% elimination. So I'm not real sure about these two, seemingly
conflicting statements.

Gwen, if you were talking about something else entirely, I apologize. I
tried to figure out what medication you were talking about, but to no avail.
