I am trying to find any references for the safe use of Icy Hot, or BenGay
products while breastfeeding.  Did not find anything in Hale or by doing a
search of the archives.

 

Anyone ever hear of telling a mother to drink a small amount of vegetable
oil daily to help prevent plugged ducts?????  A mother called me reporting
that another lactation consultant gave her this advice.  I gave the mother
all the information I have gathered about using lecithin and lowering fats
in her diet but have never come across information regarding veg. Oil
internally.
