Latch Assist is a more marketing savvy name than Nipple Puller, 'cos the latter actually hints at something unnatural, and
women might flinch... but it's the Nipple Puller here..

My major advocacy focus now is inappropriate relationships between such companies and breastfeeding groups.

Lansinoh is (again) a major sponsor
of the Australian Breastfeeding Association's conferences, and other breastfeeding organizations worldwide...
despite this statement from IBFAN
http://www.ibfan.org/site2005/abm/paginas/articles/arch_art/91-1.pdf

and Lansinoh appears to be the ONLY product LLLI endorse
http://www.llli.org/links.html?m=0,4
Quote: <Products Endorsed by LLLI
In some parts of the world, La Leche League endorses the following manufacturer's products:
Lansinoh Laboratories >

A Pigeon advertisement promoting <more than just breastfeeding products> with an ad for this drinking cup,for babies from 2 months (http://www.pigeonbaby.com.au/drinking.php)
is in a Bounty Bag distributed through most Australian hospitals by a company endorsed by ALCA.
but Bounty, say
<We are therefore proud to announce that as of April 2007 all 3 Bounty Bags will no longer carry advertising for bottles, teats, dummies, follow-on formula or infant foods (for babies under 6 months of age).>.......

On the front page of the Bounty website, there's a large ALCA logo and.... the above statement also says:

<All the Bounty products are now endorsed by the Australian Lactation Consultants Association who act as the independent watchdog reviewing the entire Bounty portfolio each quarter to ensure that all the information including advertising is breastfeeding friendly and complies with the WHO code.>

35 years on, still singing the same song...
