Does anyone here in Australia recommend to their mothers to supplement their babies for Vit. D? I am just studying vitamin D and the breastfed infant at the moment and it says "A supplement of 400 IU per day of vitamin D is recommended for all breastfed infants". http://aappolicy.aappublications.org/cgi/content/full/pediatrics;122/5/1142
I am interested in some others perspective. But, I have never recommended a supplement to the breastfed baby or articial baby for that matter, though do frequently recommend the mother take a supplement.
I wonder if this is just another way of research not supporting exclusive breastfeeding? Or perhaps another reason as to why women's bodies are incapable of giving and sustaining life? ok getting off topic!
Blessings,
Rachaelx
