I saw a mother today with a low milk supply (probably due primarily to
excessive supplementation). She has occasionally been using a Pigeon breast
pump (described on their website as "battery operated with automatic natural
sucking reflex action"). It is a single pump with variable suction; the
cycle speed seems rather slow to me; and the diameter of the flange is quite
large, which is helpful for this mother. She is not getting a lot of milk,
however, but is resistant to the idea of a rental pump. As the mother is a
statistician, I had hoped to give her some numbers that could convince her
of the increased power of a rental pump, but I couldn't find any information
on Pigeon's website on the suction pressure of the pump, other than this
quote: "A pressure of 80-100mmHg is exerted by a baby." Does anyone have any
further data?

Thanks!
