WALC (Wisconsin Assn of Lactation Consultants) for several years has purchased copies of Hale for each member to give to a hospital, doctor's office, pharmacy or whoever they feel can use it.  some of the recipients then go on to order additional copies or at least order when the next edition comes out.  I am sure some copies are relegated to a back shelf and never opened, but those that are used at least help reduce the "any medication precludes breastfeeding" attitude.  I have personally given mine to amy oharmacist and a couple docs and they are definitely grateful for them.
