I read with interest Nikki's thread. "Unfortunately" health professionals also do have an obligation to disseminate factual information on the risks of co-sleeping and the incidence of SIDS. Supporting breast feeding is very important but..... Such information should be informed and include the reduced risks of "safe co-sleeping" but should also include the increased risks if smoking, obesity or illicit drugs or sedation are used etc.
