Debbi asked what to do with the contents of unwelcome discharge bags after
they've decided to stop distributing them, and if they're unwilling to pay
to send them back to the company. I've asked many people what to do with
the leftovers that would be ethical AND not advertise the products any
further. Here's a compilation of suggestions:

What to do with.

* The bags themselves - give them to homeless shelters or charities
that supply homeless people. Homeless people are in desperate need for bags
for their personal belongings and can use just about any size, shape or
color. Having a bag means you can hang on to two pairs of socks. (My
daughter's church runs a "free store" and told me about this use.)

* The cans of formula - check expiration dates, then donate to local
food banks.

* Blankets - if there are no logos or advertising designs, donate to
churches or shelters, maybe even some low-budget day care centers.

* If there are logos or brand-specific designs on the blankets,
donate them to animal shelters. Animal shelters or rescue agencies are often
looking for soft cloth items for bedding, bathing, and caring for stray dogs
and cats that are brought in dirty & cold.

* lullaby CDs - shred 'em. Most office shredders will take CDs.

* other random trinkets - throw in the trash thoroughly mixed with
used cat litter, wet garbage, food garbage.
