You are correct that milk banks belonging to HMBANA -- Human Milk Banking Assn of North America -- are non-profit, and provide their donated human milk for free, charging only for processing and shipping.
 
However, the collection, processing and selling of human breastmilk *has* entered the for-profit arena.  Some mothers do it on their own -- using the Internet to seek and sell milk.  There are also for-profit milk banks now (some with not-for-profit foundation "arms" that blur the true profit-based nature of the enterprise).
