 Actually the mother was alive and well and had recently weaned the baby 
from breast to bottle.  I remember Dr. Quinn suddenly remembering that the 
mother had mentioned that she was no longer breastfeeding (like a lightbulb 
went on in her head) and went to the mother to ask to see the bottle.  It 
was a sad show but it was clear that the baby should have been on the 
breast.
