Coffee and tea may have been cheaper than milk for bottles for a while, but now my teenaged sons tell me we should just switch to beer now that it's cheaper than milk.  (they all nursed 2-3 years, but we do love our dairy in our house).   They're teasing, of course, but perhaps we should be mentioning to families the increase in the cost of formulas due to the increase in the cost of milk ($5.45/gal lately here), and that it's going to get worse.  At least the cost of breastmilk from mom is fairly stable...--  :-)
