Hi Jacqui!

Could the blood, or at least some of it, be coming from your
breast(s)? Has the baby any other symptoms that could point to
possible allergy?

i don't have any indication that it could be coming from my breasts - i've
seen no traces in my milk the few times i've seen it spit up, i have no pain or
plugged ducts or latching issues/trauma... and i'm nursing 2 toddlers
besides the baby so i'm definitely not getting overly engorged besides the night
milk came in on day 3 postpartum.

he's had no other symptoms of allergy that i've seen at all. but then again
would i be looking for the same symptoms in a baby about a week old as say a 6
month old? there's no fussiness at all, no gas, no spitting up, no runny
nose, no unusual rashes, no foamy/slimy stools. just very very frequent black
stools and a family hx of his father and the older brother he most resembles
having dairy intolerance as well. so far he's a very easy, seemingly happy
baby.
