Christine, near term babies are from 35 to 38 weeks gestation. Before 35
weeks are premature. After 38 weeks are full term.
Most "near term" babies are assumed to fall within the full term babies but
there is more research showing that they have problems that need to be
watched out for.
I don't have the article at home but there was a journal with all it's
articles regarding the near term babies. They offered CMEs for the series. I
believe some of the authors were our Nancy Wight, and Tom Hale among some others.
