Jaye,

A selection that may be useful: posted on-list, as there are always people
looking for stuff, even if only one person asks!

The best single popular journal type article I've found - well written, well
researched, well put together - on the risks of using formula in Western
culture can be found at

http://www.theecologist.org/archive_detail.asp?content_id=586

It's UK data - I understand the USA data is slightly worse. Perhaps your
partner needs to read it? :-)

The following is dark and horrible, and makes strong points about commerce
and the dangers of companies pushing formula in non-Western cultures,
perhaps a good one for the expo organiser?

An excellent and thorough comparison of the deaths per 1000 in the USA, and
diseases therfore, in breastfed versus formula can be found at:

http://www.naturalfamilyonline.com/articles/312-formula-report-2.htm

with a more populist newsy format of it at:

http://www.naturalfamilyonline.com/articles/312-formula-report.htm

This one is a good myth/comparison buster one, that could be the basis of
the quiz mentioned earlier?

This one is about code violations - apologies if it's the one you mention
you have:

This one is a cute "Licence to Breastfeed" secret agent card... I know of
women who have printed it off and carry it with them:

http://www.parenting.com/parenting/whitepage/magazine_pullouts/pdfs/btcard.pdf

And finally, on an upbeat note - this woman produces excellent, cheap.
breastfeeding artwork (I have no financial interest). If you wanted to
spend a few dollars on an eye catching central print on a display, that
wasn't medicalised "How to" or Health promotioned "..is best" then this is
the site for you. She has two collections, breastfeeding goddesses, and
everyday Mums out and about. Worth hitting the site just for the visual
humour in the first page - breastmilk, the original fast food.

There is also a wonderful breastfeeding baby book on this site called "What
Babies Eat" - free to download. Might be worth printing off a few for the
little ones at the expo to read. :-)
