We have discussed lots of issues concerning pumping & bof vs. feeding
directly @ the breast. However, either I am not receiving all the posts or
we have NOT discussed information from Brian Palmer, DDS. He believes that
NOTHING should be in that babe's mouth other than the mom's breast. No
paci's, no teats, no fingers. He talks about pulling skulls from the
Smithsonian and only after the advent of the bottle did he find
mal-occlusions and significant decay. He even blames Sleep Apnea on BOF and
to prove his point shows a picture of his brother in ICU on a vent! So, if
I am talking to a mom that has decided to pump & bof (I do not force her and
I don't believe that I am rude,) but after I talk about the extra time
involved, the extra work that will probably decrease the length of BRF I
also tell her about Dr. Palmer's theories.
Respectfully,
Royce
