Kathleen,
I have been following the HIV issue for some time and would agree with Alicia.
 If the mother was negative at conception and still negative the chances are
very slim that she is infected.  Seroconversion can take much longer than 6
months, but this is extremely rare.  The data on transmission during
breastfeeding is not conclusive.  As a PERSONAL opinion, if I were in the same
situation as the mother, I would breastfeed.
