Dear Friends:
Diane's post about the prevention of breast cancer reminded me of another
positive stroke to give to teens.
Many times, teens receive negative comments because of having a baby. I
love being able to tell her that she has done so much already to reduce her
risk of breast cancer, and that if she breastfeeds a long time, her risk will be
even lower.
I feel that many teens benefit from that baby. Every other mammal breeds
as soon as it goes through puberty; humans are designed the same way. I've
seen many young women become very determined to finish their education after they
have a baby, and do so. With one baby she can still fly, and her physiologic
need to have a baby has been satisfied.
Just don't have another one for a long time............
    warmly,
