Hi all,
I agree with Nikki about stating facts as facts. What the parents will do
with this is their own choice in the end. But hopefully we contribute to
that choice being a bit more based on information.

Tomorrow I do my monthly "preparing for Bfg" course, and after all this
discussion, I too think it is more important to stress the hazards of
formula rather than convince the convinced how great and healthy bfg is.

I have taken the two papers of ILCA "Summary of the Hazards of Infant
Formula" 1 & 2 which gives me a nice fat packet. I plan on passing it
around. I think the fact that there are 8 pages of hazards will enable me to
concentrate on how to help moms at the start of their bfg career, and even
talk less about formula. I always mention to parents that even one bottle
can do harm and what the ramifications are. Never do I threaten, and always
stress that few people are aware of this before giving birth, and it is
their right to know this in order to make an informed choice. I say also,
that the decision to give such a substance to their own babies, should be
theirs, and not night staff, when there is no medical instruction by MD's to
give formula.
I am pretty sure this should make an impact.

Hope this makes an impact.
