<Infant weighing scales are not sensitive enough to pick up small changes in
infants' weight after feeding>

Has anyone given any consideration as to whether the "popularity" of test
weighing in certain geographic areas has any correlation with the marketing
areas for specialized electronic/digital scales with built-in capability of
calculating the difference between pre-feed and post-feed weights, and the
marketing "education" that accompanies the scales??? After all, if one's
facility has purchased such a scale, it seems the obvious thing to do to use
it as one of a number of tools for discernment when there is any question as
to milk transfer.

Or could the development of this type of scale have come out of good
research, and the marketing "education" be simply a statement of fact???
Advertising has been known to be rife with gimmicks in other products. How
do we know whether the bottom line of profit margin for the manufacturers
has been playing a part in popularity of test weighing in certain "test
market" areas, or even "test market" countries???

I am not being facetious. I really do not know, nor have I attempted to find
any research articles. Unless one knows the parameters of the individual
scales being used by various researchers, any debate might be simply like
comparing apples versus oranges!
