Judy says,:

<<And, in an evidence-based
profession, where is the evidence that one multiple choice exam that can
take credentials away in a hearbeat, is a better way to establish
competency
than actual observation, practicums, and/or CERPS, even followed by
questions
submitted by choice? No one is saying we should not be expected to
recertify,
it's just the method that I believe needs work.>>

May I politely suggest to each of you that has difficulty with the way the
exam is administered, CERPs are awarded, the qualifications needed to sit for
the exam, etc etc etc -- that you volunteer to sit on the board of the IBLCE
so that you can offer your suggestions in the right venue.

Complaining about how the IBLCE works (or doesn't) is all well and good, but
please, please offer your services to the board so that you can help them
get it right.

This is not directed just at Judy or at any other one person -- it is
directed at all of you amazing women out there who have wonderful ideas and
suggestions but do not go any farther than putting them on Lactnet.

And yes, I've served both on the board and the exam committee and it was an
incredibly wonderful experience.
