I have the article in my files, and yes, they stopped at 5 days. 41 samples were collected, refrigerated at 4 degrees C, and cultured at one hour and again at 24, 48, 72, 96, and 120 hours. 8/41 samples showed no bacterial growth at one hour, by 120 hours 30/41 samples showed no growth. "The initial concentration of bacteria found in milk was low . . . bacterial colony counts progressively decreased throughout the five-day refrigeration period."
