I know in Massachusetts we really have a draught of clinicians we can turn
to for frenotomies. I would really love to see some traveling clinics who
train clinicians on how to assess and perform this simple and NEEDED
procedure.
Ann Perry, RN IBCLC

I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of Dr. Jain's excellent
video on how to assess tongue-tie and do a frenotomy.
http://www.drjain.com/ When I started my hospital job 15 years ago it
was a major struggle to get a baby's tongue clipped. I gave out
articles and had many debates, but over the years things have changed.
Now it's pretty much standard of care--current docs teach the new ones,
obvious tongue-ties are often clipped by the doc before the LC's have
even seen the baby, and less obvious ones are clipped when we ask. Dr.
Jain's video was extremely helpful in the beginning as we were changing
the culture and has been lent out many times. It's definitely worth the
money since it explains the problem, shows how to do the procedure, and
it's a DOCTOR talking.
