Interviews can be fun, but when interviewed as one voice of several for the article, the interview that takes 15-45 minutes is often compressed into a few comments per interviewee. What is said during the interview is not always quoted as one might have said it for the article; often paraphrasing occurs, which may put new words in one's mouth or a different spin on what was actually said. But as noted, interviews can provide wonderful opportunities to get one's message out.

Recently I was one of several interviewees for an upcoming article about BF multiples for a well-known magazine. Fortunately, I'd asked to see comments attributed to me before the article went to press. (I'd strongly ask for this re: any interview, because this time whenthe info that was to be attached to my name was forwarded, I was floored. Info had been taken out of context and then reconfigured. I sent back suggested revisions (that respected article word count) and the editor told me that permission would be needed for any revisions and they'd bet back to me. I immediately responded with a request that my name be removed if it wasn't possible to accommodate the revisions because I wasn't comfortable by what was attributed to me. I'm not sure how this will end. If you read a comment attributed to me (or someone else) and think, "That doesn't sound like something Karen would say about BF multiples," you're probably right!
